Hi again! Sorry I haven’t been on for a while. Life is busy, ya know? (Well, my family’s life, mine is pretty chill.)
Charity said this before, but I got my cast thing off! I AM FREE (ish)! Free to move, but not free to go wherever I want. Here’s the story:
Everybody noticed me trying to wiggle my arm out. Of course it didn’t work, though.
Near the 4-week mark, before I ate my crickets, they took me out and started taking the cast off. (And OUCH. Not fun.) Charity said it must’ve felt like peeling off a big Band-Aid off of hair on your arm.
Once they took it off, it was weird. I didn’t use my arm a whole lot as I ate. But throughout the day, I came to the realization that I could use my front right leg!
I was trying to go, go, go wherever I could. Which was not much. Charity was keeping a close eye on me, but I still ran a lot…just not where I wanted to go.
That night, Charity and her mom and sister were watching stuff on the big black screen thingy, Charity took me out and I curled up by her. When it was time for me to go back into my cage for bedtime, she couldn’t wake me up! I was kind of ignoring her…hey, I was tired! I had been (trying) to run around all day. Charity’s mom said I was like a toddler who had been going, going, going, all day, and crashed, fast asleep.
So, I’ve had my cast off for a while now, and it’s awesome! Although Charity is back to giving me a bath everyday so I can stay hydrated (and poop. Hey, it’s relaxing and warm, okay?).
A day or two after they took my cast off, Charity left me and went to church. And trust me, it’s not fun staying caged up all morning. So I figured I could dig my way out (see picture below)…. Didn’t really work though.
Not long after, they moved me back into my big cage. Lots of logs to sleep under, things to climb, and leaves to hide in. But no sand to dig in.
My tail is shedding right now. Charity says my head and back legs are looking really white and should shed soon, too.
I’m eating LOTS of calcium-coated crickets – can’t blame me; a 6-month-old beardie’s gotta eat!
Long story short: I got my cast off, eating lots of crickets, and am livin’ a happy beardie life!
We should start calling him “Expensive-walker.” 😉
This is so funny love it !
Tell Skywalker I say hi !

Tell Skywalker I say hi !
Not sure why it like kinda duplicated my post lol
We enjoy reading your posts and thank you for keeping us updated on Skywalker. It appears that the sky is the limit for cuteness (and finances) for this bearded dragon.
Since others have mentioned the expense involved in keeping Skywalker, I’d like to re read your initial essay with price estimates on having such a pet as a bearded dragon! I do believe your financial numbers were quite low! Was that part of your plan to get the pet of your choice? Haha
