Me: To start it off, tell us a little about your family.
Audrey: I have two older brothers; one in college, one in high school. I have two younger sisters; one in first grade, one in kindergarten. My brothers are very athletic. I’m in the middle. We are all very busy, and I am currently the only one playing a sport.
Me: Do you play any sports? If so, what sports do you play (or did play)?
Audrey: Yes: so when I was little I did gymnastics, but now my passion is horses and horseback riding.
Me: What are some of your hobbies or things you like to do in your free time?
Audrey: Probably 75% of my free time is horse related, but I love to play with my little sisters, play videogames, hangout with friends, read….
Me: Here’s a classic one: what’s your favorite color;)
Audrey: See that’s a hard one…if I had to pick…white, grey, blue, and purple. I just love white and grey.
Me: What’s a fun fact about yourself that you’d want people to know?
Audrey: Fun fact about myself is that…I’m trying to think of something that isn’t horse related…I love to sing and I will sing without realizing it.
Me: What’s one of your favorite Bible verses?
Audrey: Philippians 4:6. (Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.)
Me: In what ways do you spend time with God, and what’s your favorite?
Audrey: Some of the ways I spend time with God are reading my Bible, praying, or listening to worship music, but my favorite way is probably reading devotionals or listening to worship music.
Me: Have you been baptized? If not, do you want to? If so, when, and what made you want to make that decision?
Audrey: Yes I have been baptized. It was actually just over a year ago. One of the reasons I decided to is because I felt really close to God. I had known lots of facts about him but not really known him and I wanted to take it as my own faith.
Me: If you have one, who is one of your favorite people from the Bible (not including Jesus)?
Audrey: I would probably say…I really love Mary because I feel like she was so strong with being so young when she had Jesus and having him die on a cross and going through all that.
Me: What’s something you’ve learned or God has taught you from this past year?
Audrey: At summer camp God worked through me to heal a girl there who had been struggling. And I felt like I could do things no matter how small or young I may be.
Me: Is there anything you’ve ever struggled with? What, and how did you get past that?
Audrey: Being insecure and stressed. I feel like that’s pretty normal for teens and girls. How I got past my insecurity is by being with people who were supportive of me and people who didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. How I got past being so stressed was by just praying to God and asking him.
Me: If any, what’s a prayer of yours that has been answered recently?
Audrey: When school started I had such a bigger workload than before and I had a lot going on. I was working hard but once I asked God to help me he helped me to have perseverance.
Me: What’s something (a reminder or piece of advice) you want to share?
Audrey: Don’t just be what I call a ‘church Christian’ or a ‘camp Christian’ because I feel like a lot of us just use God when something bad is going on in our life, but think of him as a best friend who is always there for you and he wants to help you and he is not your servant he is your best friend.
