Have you ever wondered what that means: vive una buena vida? Or why I have it as my slogan? Well, “vive una buena vida” means “live a good life” in Spanish. (Yes, I take Spanish. Get with the program.)
But, the real question is, why did I pick that, out of all the other sayings in the world? Good question.
You know that bracelet company Pura Vida? Pura Vida means live free in Spanish. I would’ve picked something like that, but the thing is we are free – God gives us free will. So, now that we have free will, and can make our own choices, we need to live good.
But what does it mean to live good?
Here’s what Google says: So when we say someone is living well or that they have lived a good life, we may simply mean that they are a good person, someone who is courageous, honest, trustworthy, kind, selfless, generous, helpful, loyal, principled, and so on.
I agree with what they say – the one thing is that they’re missing something: and that thing is living for God.
In my opinion, one way (or the only way) to live a good live – or vive una buena vida – is to listen to God’s voice and do what he is telling you to do (because he does have a purpose for you! Check out past devo titled Purpose).
To live a good life is to live like Jesus. Spread kindness, don’t care what others say about you (because it only matters what God thinks!), spread the word of God, be loving, honor your parents, and many other things.
Live like Jesus

Live for God.
Daily Challenge: Think about your life. How are you living a good life? Think of some things you can do to be more like Jesus and to spread a little kindness to someone in your family, on your sports team, in your neighborhood, or anyone, and then DO IT!
Comment Below: What are some other ways you can vive una buena vida? What are some more ways you can live like Jesus this new year?
It’s wonderful to read your thoughts, Charity❣️ The world needs more “encouragers” like you … and we need more people with a positive outlook on the new year… 2022. Thank you for blessing us with your godly devos ‼️
Your Devo brought to mind Micah 6 8, ” He has told you, oh man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you except to be just, and to love (and to diligently practice) kindness (compassion), and to walk humbly with your God?”. Amplified Version.
I agree with you. This is best accomplished by living sensitive to the Lord and hearing His voice and thereby being sensitive and compassionate to others. That truly is living the good life.
